Last weekend, I went on a boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island. The boat trip was very enjoyable specially because it wasn’t very crowded and I didn’t get sea sick as I usually do.
When we got to the island we had a beautiful
view of the city with a glamorous orange light entering the buildings, since it
was around 7 pm and the sun was setting. Behind us was the gracious blue
statue, and we all looked in amazement for a while. As we observed the island
and its main attractions, the nice tourist guide explained how and why the
Statue of Liberty was built.
As the minutes went by, the sun disappeared
and we were left with an astonishing moment as the sky was “filled” with all
types of shades of blue, orange and pink. But it wasn’t all amazing because the
weather started getting a little chilly and I didn’t bring a coat! Fortunately,
a kind sir lent me his jacket and I was able to enjoy the rest of the boat
trip. Everyone on the boat was really friendly except a lady who kept being
rude to the staff.
When we got to land, I was still enchanted by
all the things I had seen, learned and experienced. To end the day in bliss, we
went to a fancy restaurant and the food was delicious!
It was lovely!
