11th form- Opinion essay

      To the Editor

I have recently read your article and I've got to say it struck a nerve in me.

Growing up I had some insecurities with my body, as any other kid does, but I never even considered there was something wrong with it, much less to the point where I thought plastic surgery was the solution.

To begin with, teenagers should be focused on their education, having fun with their friends, doing sports, falling in love for the first time, and all of these other adventures you're experiencing for the very first time or even dealing with low self-esteem due to a disability... Instead, they spend some of their best years in life concerned with what to wear, worried about their appearance, and obsessed with what others think of them.

But, secondly, and more importantly why should kids look up to these world-renowned stars, sometimes famous for absolutely nothing that contributes in a positive way to our world, instead of looking up to those that have been there for them since Day 1, who have done nothing but protect them and love them, the best friends you'll ever have, your parents.

In conclusion, throughout the course of the evolution of Human Beings, it seems we have regressed and lost track of what's really important: living your life!

    Yours faithfully,
